Instructions for paper formatting

Authors are encouraged to use LaTeX to prepare their manuscripts. Authors may use the ITW 2026 paper template.

The maximum paper length is 5 pages, plus an optional 6th page containing references only. Additional pages of supplementary material are not allowed in the EDAS submission; however, authors may include a link to an online preprint posted to arXiv or TechRxiv. The online preprint may contain supplementary material.

Papers must use fonts no smaller than 10 points, must be formatted in two columns, and must have no page numbers, headers, or footers. Author affiliations should include email addresses so that readers may contact the authors for more details about the paper. All fonts must be embedded in the PDF file.

Submissions must satisfy the EDAS PDF checks. Pages must be either US Letter size, 8.5 × 11 inches, or A4 size, 210 × 297 mm. For US Letter paper, EDAS requires left and right margins of at least 0.62 in, a top margin of at least 0.75 in on the first page and 0.73 in on all other pages, a bottom margin of at least 1.00 in, text width at most 7.26 in, and column gutter at least 0.11 in.

The PDF version must be at least 1.4. The file must not be encrypted, print-only, scanned, or stamped for proceedings, and all fonts must be embedded. Lack of IEEE PDF eXpress certification will not prevent upload.

For the first time, ITW is introducing an ITW 2026 Student Paper Award. To ensure that an eligible paper is considered, authors should include the required statement as the first line of the abstract, as shown in the updated Paper Template.

Paper registration policy

  1. For each paper, at least one author must register as an attendee and presenter.
  2. Papers that are not presented at ITW 2026 by an author will not be published either in the proceedings or in IEEE Xplore, unless the TPC chairs grant explicit permission for a substitute presenter in advance of the event who is qualified to present the paper and to answer questions.
  3. The materials in the paper must not have been published or submitted for possible publication in conference proceedings elsewhere, or have been published or accepted for publication as part of a journal paper, at the time of submission.
